Dr. Paul Motta has practiced pediatric and adult allergy in Dothan for the past 18 years. A native New Yorker, Dr. Motta received a BS in Biology/Chemistry at Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1979. After medical school, he began active duty with the U.S. Air Force, receiving his initial training as a pediatric resident (1983-1986), and subsequently completing two additional years of comprehensive pediatric and adult allergy training.

Dr. Motta served as Chief of Pediatrics at Griffiss Air Force Base in 1987. Additionally he served our country in the Air Force during the first Gulf War as Chief of Allergy at MacDill Air Force.

Dr. Motta has served on the Alabama Society of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology as Secretary/Treasurer, President-Elect, and President from 2001-2003. He recently completed a year long program to update his expertise as a Board of Allergy and Immunology Certified Specialist. Allergic disease affects many different parts of the body. It can manifest as wheezing, sneezing, rash or recurrent sinus symptoms. Allergies occur year-round in this area due to year round agriculture, mild winters and abundant outdoor pollen and molds. Dr. Motta diagnoses and treats a wide range of allergic diseases including hay fever, asthma, eczema and other rashes.  He also treats allergy to foods, medicine and insect stings, chronic swelling and immunologic disorders.

Dr. Motta has been married for 33 years and has 3 adult children. He is a Christian and strives to demonstrate the love of Christ in his daily medical practice.
